Stockholm University was founded in 1878 with the ambition to renew the traditional universities in Sweden. Close contacts and an active exchange of experience and knowledge with the outside world characterize the business since its inception.
33,000 students, 1,600 doctoral students and 5,500 employees are active at Stockholm University. Within the science areas of science and human sciences, 190 study programs and 1,700 courses are offered. The university has a total turnover of SEK 4.93 billion.
Stockholm University contributes to knowledge development in a global perspective and in collaboration with others. This is done through education and research in the international front line, as well as in cross-border and multidisciplinary studies. 1 About the contracting institution
The institution´s premises are mainly located in the Arrhenius laboratories together with the other chemistry institutions and other institutions in "Life Science". More than 200 people, including about 80 doctoral students, are currently employed by the department. The research spans a wide area and is within many of the projects of the highest world class. The department also has a strong connection to the Science for Life Laboratory. The research that is conducted is unique in Sweden and also in the world through its interdisciplinary nature and spans a very wide area including cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics and theory. For more information about our business, see our website www.dbb.su.se.
2 Goals and purpose
The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics wishes to purchase a Class II microbiological safety cabinet, for producing a “cleanroom” internal environment for sample protection, and to provide operator protection from reagents manipulated in the cabinet.
3 Requirement specification
The product offered must be a Class II, dual filter microbiological safety cabinet (according to EN12469)
The cabinet flow recirculation must be between 60-80%
The cabinet must have working area of at least 1750mm wide
The maximum external width of the cabinet must not be greater than 2000mm.
The working height of the cabinet must be able to be set during cabinet installation for a worksurface height of 90cm.
The working area must contain at least two electrical outlets (230V, CEE 7/3). This requirement can be met by the provision of at least a double electrical outlet or two single electrical outlets.
The cabinet must contain a germicidal UV-C light source to sterilize the working surface, with an interlock to prevent operation of the UV-C light source with the window open.
The window must be able to open at least 250mm to put items in the hood, but the hood does not need to operate during opening to this height.
The front window and sides of the hood must be made from clear glass.
In transport configuration, the cabinet must fit through a 900mm wide door opening and be able to be transported in an elevator with door height of 1995mm
In operational configuration, the cabinet must be able to function in a room with a ceiling height of 2.6M
Cabinet must require an operational clearance of no more than 100mm clear from the building walls (rear and sides)
Product must function using the 1 phase 230V Swedish electrical system, fitted with a CEE 7/4 plug, and draw less than 10A maximum)
The cabinet must be factory calibrated to function correctly after installation. If this is not possible, the supplier must make a service visit at no extra cost, in order to calibrate the air flow accordingly.
The cabinet must be fully supported with spare parts available for a period of 7 years after purchase, and extended “best effort” support available after this.
The cabinet must be supplied with a 2 year full warranty on all parts.
Billing regarding service must not include more than 3 hours total billed travel time of Stockholm University Frescati campus per occasion
The product must be CE-marked (includes environmental requirements and constitutes standard)
The product must conform to EN:12469 European Standard for Microbiological Safety Cabinets.
Delivery of the cabinet must take place within 12 weeks of the order being placed.
We expect quotation regarding the above and wish the following to be stated in the quotation;
State the total price for delivery.
No other costs may be added for the commission´s implementation.
Answer in the tender how the offered product meets the requirement specification. All tenders must include sufficient documentation to allow the above requirements to be evaluated.
The quotation must contain the reference number SU-431-0070-20
in the title.
The quotation will be submitted no later than 2020-12-04
The quotation must be binding with 2020-12-31
