1. About the contracting institution

The institution´s premises are mainly located in the Arrhenius laboratories together with the other chemistry institutions and other institutions in "Life Science". More than 200 people, including about 80 doctoral students, are currently employed by the department. The research spans a wide area and is within many of the projects of the highest world class. The department also has a strong connection to the Science for Life Laboratory. The research that is conducted is unique in Sweden and also in the world through its interdisciplinary nature and spans a very wide area including cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics and theory. 2. Goals and purpose

The Amunts Lab works on mitochondrial complexes, which require large scale cultures, mitochondrial preparation and protein purification. For this a refrigerated benchtop centrifuge (low temperatures down to ~4oC) with high capacity rotor and additional compatible high-speed fixed angle rotor is required. Specifically, it will be used for exchanging culture media, spinning down mitochondria at high centrifugation speed and protein concentration performed in 50ml falcon tubes. Hence both a swing-out and a high-speed rotor are required. Additionally, the cell manipulation requires processing in a variety of volumes and number of vials.

3. Requirement specification

The instrument should meet the following requirements:

1. Refrigerated benchtop centrifuge with swing-out rotor and adapters for sample capacity from 1mL up to 4L at a time in the same swing-out rotor. Ability to spin within the range 500-3,000g and minimum of 4 Nalgene centrifuge bottles at the same time.

2. Additionally provided high-speed fixed angle rotor including lid, compatible with the centrifuge above, for samples up to capacity from 15mL to 50 mL of cell culture conical centrifuge tubes and max. speed at least to 20,000g and minimum 6 tubes at the same time.

3. Adapters compatible with the aforementioned equipment:

For the swing-out rotor,

- 4x1L round buckets and 4x adapters for 1L Nalgene bottles.

- 15mL, 50mL and 250mL conical centrifuge tube adapters, and 500mL flat bottom Nalgene centrifuge bottle adapters.

For the high-speed rotor,

- 15mL cell culture conical centrifuge tube adapters.

The quantity of the adapters provided should match the max. tube capacity of both rotors.

4. The instrument must fit on a bench within width x depth x height: 120 x 80 x 75 cm, when the lid is closed.

5. Desired delivery date 2020/09/01 – 2020/09/25.

6. Warranty for at least for 2 years.

7. The product must be CE marked.

4. Quotation

We expect quotation regarding the above and wish the following to be stated in the quotation:

1. The offer needs to include the following.

- 1 centrifuge, 1 swing-out rotor, 1 high-speed rotor, according to the requirements above.

Also added in the quote,

For the swing-out rotor: 4 adapters for 15mL conical centrifuge tubes, 4 adapters for 50mL conical centrifuge tubes, 4 adapters for 250mL conical tubes, 4 adapters for 500mL Nalgene flat bottle, 4 adapters for 1L Nalgene flat bottle, according to the requirements above.

For the high-speed rotor: 6 adapters for 15mL conical tubes, according to the requirements above.

2. Total price, including delivery.

No other costs may be added for the implementation of the assignment.

Answer in the tender how the offered product meets the requirements specification.

The quotation will be submitted no later than 2020-07-30

The quotation must be binding with 2020-10-30

5. Evaluation and award (supplier selection)

The selection will be made according to the following criteria:

1. Price, including delivery.

2. Cooling of instrument to 4 ° C.

3. Delivery time.

The supplier offering the most advantageous solution to the contract is awarded the contract. SU evaluates the tenders in accordance with the above requirements.
