1 About the contracting institution

The institution´s premises are mainly located in the Arrhenius laboratories together with the other chemistry institutions and other institutions in "Life Science". More than 200 people, including about 80 doctoral students, are currently employed by the department. The research spans a wide area and is within many of the projects of the highest world class. The department also has a strong connection to the Science for Life Laboratory. The research that is conducted is unique in Sweden and also in the world through its interdisciplinary nature and spans a very wide area including cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics and theory. 2 Goals and purpose

The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics wishes to procure the service of rederivation of a transgenic rat strain to allow the import of live animals into a specific-pathogen-free (SPF) facility, for use in research into neuronal activity.

3 Requirement specification

The service provider must be able to receive delivery of live rats from a facility which does not have SPF health status according to FELASA criteria, and subsequently rederive the strain via embryo transfer to produce live rats which meet the FELASA SPF health status. A full health report for the rederived animals must be provided prior to shipping. Following rederivation, it must then be possible for the animals to be transported to Stockholm by a method that maintains this health status (by road), to allow import directly into the facility at Stockholm University. For this reason, the country/location where the rederivation will take place should be specified.

The desired delivery time is within four months of receipt of the source animals. An estimated timeframe for the service should be stated.

4 Quotation

When choosing a supplier, we will consider the estimated timeframe and location of the service and the health status of the providing facility. A recent health report from the facility where the rederivation will take place should be provided.

We expect quotation regarding the above and wish the following to be stated in the quotation;

State the total price for the assignment implementation.

Answer in the tender how the offered product meets the requirement specification:

The quotation will be submitted no later than 2020-12-18

The quotation must be binding with 2021-02-18

5. Evaluation and award (supplier selection)

The supplier offering the most advantageous solution to the contract is awarded the contract. SU evaluates the tenders in accordance with the above requirements.
