1 About the contracting institution
The institution´s premises are mainly located in the Arrhenius laboratories together with the other chemistry institutions and other institutions in "Life Science". More than 200 people, including about 80 doctoral students, are currently employed by the department. The research spans a wide area and is within many of the projects of the highest world class. The department also has a strong connection to the Science for Life Laboratory. The research that is conducted is unique in Sweden and also in the world through its interdisciplinary nature and

2 Goals and purpose
The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics wishes to purchase a new double monochromated fluroscence plate reader to replace an instrument which has reached the end of its operational lifetime. This instrument is used heavily by a number of research staff, and is integral to the scientific work carried out at the department.
We require an instrument whích is reliable, easy to use, suitable for a large number of different users, and has a throughput rate suitable for our amount of usage.
3 Requirement specification Technical Specifications

Xenon light source
Photomultiplier detector
Dual monochromators
Excitation range at least 250-850nm
Emission range at least 250-850nm
Wavelength selection to 1nm accuracy
Bandwidth of monochromators 9nm or less
Luminescence:
Must be able to make luminescence measurements
General specifications:
Capable of reading 96 and 384 well plates
Must be able to measure from either the top or bottom of plates
A full plate read must take less than 60 seconds
Temperature regulation from 4 degrees above ambient up to at least 45C
Instrument footprint maximum size 50cm x 60cm deep. 40cm maximum height.
Function with Swedish standard electrical system (1 phase, 240V AC 50Hz, Schuko contact)
The product must be CE-marked (includes environmental requirements and constitutes standard)
Computer and Software Specifications:
Instrument control software included, suffucient to operate the instrument and export data for futher analyses.
Instrument connection to computer preferably with USB. Other types of connection are acceptable if a suitable PCI or other board is provided.
Software must be compatible with Windows 10 Enterprise and functional for multiple user logins.
Software must be able to export data as Microsoft Excel or CSV format
The software to operate the instrument must be user friendly, simple to use, require minimal user training, and be supported with security updates and bug fixes for the duration of the mainline support lifetime of the instrument.
Service requirements
The plate reader should have mainline repair support available for a minimum of 5 years after delivery (i.e spare parts guaranteed available).
A response to technical enquiries by email must take no more than 5 working days.
The offer should include a 5 year basic service contract which provides one service visit per year to perform basic maintenance and caibration of the plate reader, for a period of 5 years. This can be billed per year, but the pricing should be fixed for the duration of the 5 year period.
The chosen product must include one user education session on site at SU with an application scientist or other qualified instrument expert.
4 Quotation
We expect quotation regarding the above and wish the following to be stated in the quotation;
Price; State the total price for delivery including service and installation.
No other costs may be added for the commission´s implementation.

5. Evaluation and award (supplier selection)
The supplier offering the most advantageous solution to the contract is awarded the contract. SU evaluates the tenders in accordance with the above requirements.
