1 About the contracting institution

The institution´s premises are mainly located in the Arrhenius laboratories together with the other chemistry institutions and other institutions in "Life Science". More than 200 people, including about 80 doctoral students, are currently employed by the department. The research spans a wide area and is within many of the projects of the highest world class. The department also has a strong connection to the Science for Life Laboratory. The research that is conducted is unique in Sweden and also in the world through its interdisciplinary nature and spans a very wide area including cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics and theory. 2 Goals and purpose

The research group is performing research on solute carrier proteins (SLC) involved in several biological processes. These SLC transport polar/charged compounds/ions across biological membranes of cells, thus enabling e.g. cell homeostasis. The transport is concomitant with a change in particle concentration(s) within these membrane compartments, and thus results in an altered electrochemical gradient across the membrane, which may for some SLC be detected by e.g. electrophysiology. The product sought in this procurement is an electrophysiology instrument (hence referred to as the product), which can enable the research into the activity of SLCs though detection of an electrophysiological effect generated across a lipid bilayer, such as a liposome.

3 Requirement specification

The product must be capable of recording changes, in electrical potential or current across a liposome membrane, generated by transporter proteins in liposomes. A high sensitivity and/or high sample mass capacity is required of the product, to enable measurements even at the moderate transport rates associated with SLC transporters.

List and cost for all necessary spare parts associated with specified usage is requested. Split into need per year over the life span of the product (state at least for 5 years). If a service plan is provided as an additional alternative, clearly define the included components.

Training of users from the research group in: instrument use, maintenance and data processing (likely via video link due to current SARS-CoV-2 pandemic).

Consumables required needs to be included in full, for 50/100/200 experimental setups (e.g. one protein construct, used for several experiments within a short time).

Delivery of the product would be preferred within 1 month after accepting a quote, but no longer than 3 months.

State warranty period for product and any add on/peripherals.

Product must be CE-labelled.

4 Quotation

5. Evaluation and award (supplier selection)

The supplier offering the most advantageous solution to the contract is awarded the contract. SU evaluates the tenders in accordance with the above requirements.
