About Stockholm Resilience Center (SRC)

Since its launch in 2007, SRC has developed into a world-leading science centre for addressing the complex challenges facing humanity.

The centre is a joint initiative between Stockholm University and the Beijer Institute of Ecological Economics at The Royal Swedish Academy Sciences.

It is governed by a board with additional strategic advice provided by two separate advisory councils.

The vision of the centre is a world where social-ecological systems are understood, governed and managed, to enhance human well-being and the capacity to deal with complexity and change, for the sustainable co-evolution of human civilizations with the biosphere.

The mission of the centre is to advance research for governance and management of social-ecological systems to secure ecosystem services for human well-being and resilience for long-term sustainability. The centre applies and further develops the scientific achievements of this research within practice, policy and academic training.

We believe in the importance of reconnecting to the biosphere. We must stop considering nature as something separate from society because people and nature are truly intertwined in what we refer to as social-ecological systems. Development can no longer be done without an increased understanding of nature’s role for our own survival and well-being.

2 Mål och syfte/Goal and purpose

Konsult för att leda arbetet för Global Resilience Partnership (GRP) inom Program Design och Impact Leadership

GRP söker nu en konsult som ska leda GRP:s arbetet med Design and Impact under perioden april 2020 till mars 2021. Tanken är att leda arbetet med Design and Impact akitviter under GRP:s två value additions (VAs): VA01 Innovation and Scaling samt VA02: Shared Learning and Mainstreaming.

Arbetsuppgifter innefattar teknisk support till värdpartners, bidra till GRP:s challenge programmes, implementera och designa MEL processer för impact, kunskapsförmedling, se över GRP:s online Solutions Platform och Management Information System (MIS), samt bidra till RMEL CoP sekretariatets arbete. Vidare innebär uppdraget att planera och genomföra webinars och utveckling av kunskapsprodukter.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

GRP is looking for a consultant who can lead and support the GRP programme Impact and Design activities. The work will be done in close collaboration with the GRP Secretariat team and focus on the following Value Additions (VA) and wider strategic support:

1.   VA01 Innovation and Scaling support: 

          a.     Support design and implementation of GEF Challenge.

          b.     Grantee and partner support through GRP virtual MEL desk and webinars.

2.   VA02 Shared Learning and Mainstreaming support:

         a.      Convene resilience practitioners at regular intervals to form a Community of Practice

         b.      Consolidate online platforms and support curation by partners.

3.   Strategic Design and Impact support:

         a.      Support design of programmes and proposals (mainstreaming facility, WFF-Hivos).

         b.      Consolidate and feed learning from GRP phase I into phase II.

3  Kravspecifikation/Requirement Specification

Följande kriterier ska uppfyllas för uppdraget:

- Kunskap om resilience, Global Resilience Partnership och dess partners

- PhD inom resiliensmätning eller liknande stark resilience programme design, MEL and impact bakgrund

- Erfarenhet av kunskapsförmedling, gärna inom online plattformar

- Erfarenhet av Odk och ekonometriska mjukvaruprogram

- Förståelse för resiliens och internationellt utvecklingssamarbete

- Goda kommunikationskunskaper

- Utmärkt förmåga att utrycka sig på engelska, både muntligt och skriftligt

ASSESSMENT

The proposal will be assessed on the following:

1. Knowledge of GRP and its partners.

2. Strong resilience programming background.

3. Experience in knowledge brokering and transfer, preferably with online platforms.

4. Understanding of resilience and international development cooperation.

5. Outstanding experience of applied resilient measurement and evaluation

6. A PhD in a relevant field 

7. Experience with Odk and econometrics software

8. Good communication skills.

9. Excellent ability to express themselves in English, both orally and in writing.

10. Cost.

TIMING

The work related to this TOR will commence in Maj 2020 and finish in March 2021. The time period will allow for any necessary follow-up work which might be required.

DELIVERABLES

The deliverables will be written and/or orally presented outputs based on the requirements listed above.

LEAD CONTACT

Den leverantör som offererar den för SU mest fördelaktiga lösningen tilldelas kontraktet. SU utvärderar anbuden i enlighet med ovan ställda krav.

The supplier who offers the most advantageous solution for SU is awarded the contract. SU evaluates tenders in accordance with the requirements set out above.
