1 About the contracting institution

Mats Nilsson’s Research group at Science for Life Laboratory, Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Stockholm University develops and applied novel molecular analysis methods for research and diagnostics. One of the methods, RifSeq is currently under development. It’s useful for high-content screening of cell cultures treated with different drugs to profile the response phenotype on RNA level. A protocol for conducting the method has been developed and characterized, and what remains to be done to publish the new

method is a large scale phenotypic screening of a set of drugs and chemical compounds. This final experiment has been planned and is ready to be performed, but then we have observed that there is a bug in the protocol that needs trouble shooting to fix.

2 Goals and purpose

We are offering a consultancy contract for a post-doctoral researcher to complete a short-term project: To trouble shoot and fix the bug in the protocol, and then to perform the final large scale experiment.  The goal is to wrap up our rif-seq project whose completion does not justify the hiring of a longer term employee.

3 Requirement specification

There is a well-defined trouble-shooting plan, and a plan for the final drug-screening experiment in place. All material is available at Nilsson’s lab, as well as, access to supporting expertise. The task can and should be initiated as soon as possible. The plan should be possible to execute with 9 weeks of full time work. The results must be documented to meet the standards needed for scientific publication of the results. The results should be reported and handed over on a weekly basis. The task requires PhD qualification, and thorough prior knowledge about the RifSeq method. The budget for the work of this task is maximum 100 000 SEK.

4 Quotation

 We expect the quotation regarding the above and wish the following to be stated in the quotation:

Price: 46 000 SEK + moms/month. Maximum 100 000 SEK+ moms

For service: State the total price for the assignment implementation, including hourly rate breakdown for the assignment´s implementation. If budget exists, it can be specified for transparency.

No other costs may be added for the commission´s implementation.

Answer in the tender how the offered product meets the requirement specification:

The quotation will be submitted no later than 2021-01-29

The quotation must be binding with 2021-03-29

5. Evaluation and award (supplier selection)

The supplier offering the most advantageous solution to the contract is awarded the contract. SU evaluates the tenders in accordance with the above requirements.
