Dynamic mechanical thermal analyzer (DMTA) is intended to measure viscoelastic of polymeric materials as a function of temperature, relative humidity or frequency.
DMTA will be used to evaluate the storage modulus, loss modulus, damping behaviour, creep , stress relaxation, gelation etc in polymeric systems. The equipment will have a motor and drive shaft used to apply torsional, tensile or bending stress on materials samples in the form of of thin films, sheets, fibers, foams or hydrogels. DMTA can also be accessorised with a immersion bath and controlled relative humidity chamber to evaluate the effect of moist conditions on the material performance.
