Procurement of a Nanosecond pulsed dye laser system
Kungliga Tekniska högskolan, STOCKHOLM
KTH intends to purchase a nanosecond pulsed dye laser system for deep ultraviolet Resonanceenhanced
multiphoton ionization (REMPI) laser spectroscopy.
KTH requires a nanosecond pulsed dye laser system for deep ultraviolet Resonance Enhanced Multiphoton
Ionization (REMPI) laser spectroscopy of dilute samples of small molecules. The system must be
flexible, robust, and powerful with narrow linewidth, broad tuneability, and stable wavelength scanning It
will be used for quantum-state-resolved detection of scattered molecules as part of a molecular beam
surface scattering instrument. REMPI has been chosen as the detection method because the
molecular ions created in the process can be detected with high efficiency. The multiphoton nature of
REMPI and the low density of molecules in the experiment place strict constraints on the properties
required of the laser system.
