Description of goods:

We are looking for a high-precision 3D scanner and accompanying software for point cloud management, postprocessing and 3D model generation.

Requirements specifications of goods/services

The purchase must include the following products/commitments/services:

1. 3D scanner:  

Able to scan objects sized ~ 20 cm – 250 cm.  

Structured light technology.

Meant for applications in areas such as restoration, artwork conservation, detailed surface inspection (e.g. detailed crack and textural feature registration) etc.

High resolution (< 1 mm point to point).

High accuracy (< 0.1 mm).  

High capture speed (< 1 s).

Capture of point clouds. 

Capture and mapping of color and depth data. 

Optional: Compact dimensions and product design allowing for attachment or camera mount so that the device can easily be fitted onto a smaller robotic arm such as KUKA Agilus KR10. 

2. Accompanying software: 

Provides an easy interface to start and stop captures, adjust settings, record point clouds, cloud stitching, meshing, and texturing. 

Allows for the export of meshes into common 3D formats. 

Allows for the export of raw point clouds into common point cloud formats. 

Free or one time purchase. 

Long-term support, software updates and bug fixes. 

Optional: Interoperability and possibility to write custom plug-ins for interfacing with other software, such as McNeel’s Rhinoceros 3D.

3. SDK: 

API to start and stop captures, adjust settings, acquire point clouds, color and depth data.  

API for point cloud stitching, meshing and texturing. 

C++ or C#. 

Well-documented.

Long-term support, updates and bug fixes.

Price

Price shall be submitted in SEK excluding VAT and include all related costs requested in this request for tender.

Agreement terms

The seller must accept all agreement terms.

Tender submission

The tender must be received no later than 15 January 2024.

The tender shall be valid until 15 February 2024.

Evaluation of tenders

The most economically advantageous tender (i.e. an assessment of price, quality, service etc.) will be chosen.

Description of the criteria that will be assessed (in the prioritized order):

1. Delivery time.

2. Price.

3. Performance.

Confidentiality and the freedom of information principle

After the procurement has been terminated the principle of public access to official records applies. This means that all documents related to the procurement process become public and may be disclosed to anyone who requests access to them. Exceptions may only be made if there is any specific reason to believe that the Tenderer may suffer damage if the information is disclosed.

If you have information that you consider is of such nature, your tender shall include precise details of which information should remain confidential, and how you would suffer damage in case of the public disclosure of this information. Chalmers will evaluate your request and determine whether confidentiality in accordance with Swedish law may be deemed to apply.
