Chalmers Centre for Metal Cutting Research (MCR) belonging to the Department of Industrial and Materials Science (IMS) is investing into a cooling-lubrication machining system combining cryogenic cooling with minimum-quantity lubrication (MQL) to be ready to install from September 2018.

Description of goods:

Cryogenic-MQL machining system

This procurement concerns a research (lab) equipment for cryogenic-MQL machining, mainly intended for using with CO2; or liquid nitrogen (LN2). The system should have the possibility to integrate with a milling center or a lathe for turning.

Estimated total value of goods in SEK: 200.000 – 300.000.

Requirements specifications of goods

The purchase MUST and SHOULD include the following products/commitments:

·         MUST have a possibility to integrate a liquid cryogen (CO2 or N2) with MQL; preferably in a single-channel arrangement.       

·         SHOULD have the possibility to connect to a rotary unit for delivery of the cryogen through the rotating tool in milling; no through-spindle supply option.

·         MUST have a PLC with touch screen control to control cooling-lubrication.

·         SHOULD have a cryogen flow control.

·         MUST be compatible with Swedish electricity standard.

Other

Installation, user training and support should be provided.

Price

Price shall be submitted in SEK excluding VAT and include all related costs requested in this request for tender.

Agreement terms

The supplier must accept all agreement terms.

Tender submission

The tender must be received no later than 2018-06-30.

The tender shall be valid until 2018-08-08.

Evaluation of tenders

The most economical, service and delivery-time advantageous tender will be chosen.

Confidentiality and the freedom of information principle

After the procurement has been terminated the principle of public access to official records applies. This means that all documents related to the procurement process become public and may be disclosed to anyone who requests access to them. Exceptions may only be made if there is any specific reason to believe that the Tenderer may suffer damage if the information is disclosed.

If you have information that you feel is of such nature, your tender shall include precise details of which information should remain confidential, and how you would suffer damage in case of the public disclosure of this information. Chalmers will evaluate your request and determine whether confidentiality in accordance with Swedish law may be deemed to apply.
