This procurement covers one (1) Portable Radar System (System), as specified in the RFT.
At the Department of Historical Studies, which belongs to the Faculty of Humanities, education and
research are conducted in the three subjects of History, Archaeology and Classical Archaeology and
Ancient History. Education is offered at all levels, from the undergraduate to the PhD student level.
The research takes place both within the individual subjects and in major interdisciplinary projects,
where national and international collaboration is an important element. The main working language
at the department is Swedish.
The department currently has around 100 employees in the form of researchers, lecturers, doctoral
students, and administrators.
Research within the discipline of Archaeology are concerned with social change in past societies,
with a focus on the material remains of human behaviour. The chronological and geographical range
is wide. Within the department there is a close collaboration between Archaeology and its sister
disciplines History and Classical Archaeology and Ancient History with regard to both research and

At the department we conduct surveys and excavations, and we have a digital infrastructure in place
to handle most archaeological problems. Today most of our documentation is digital and we use
different technical equipment from Leica (scanners, GPS and total stations). This equipment is also
used to position our geophysical equipments
