ITC-System

Karolinska Institutet, STOCKHOLM

Karolinska Institutet, hereinafter called KI, invites companies, hereinafter called Tenderers, to submit tenders concerning an isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) system.

Isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) is a quantitative technique that measures the thermodynamics of binding between purified biomolecules and/or chemicals.

Used for studies of biomolecular interactions in solution by monitoring the heat produced or taken up by a reaction, ITC has become the gold standard for studying molecular interactions in solution. With this procurement KI aim to acquire a system for label-free measuring of binding and reaction thermodynamics of, mostly, proteins and their interacting molecules. The aim is to obtain information on binding affinity, stoichiometry and thermodynamic parameters. The proteins are typically produced by the PSF and the ITC measurements are offered as a service by PSF but are often performed by the various researchers who owns the projects. The instrument will be available for all researchers after user training.
